Pedestrians must follow all traffic regulations because everyone using the road shares responsibility for safety and predictable behavior. This means obeying signals and signs, using marked crosswalks, and crossing only when it’s safe or permitted. They don’t automatically have priority over vehicles in every situation; drivers turning or approaching a crosswalk may have the right of way, and pedestrians must yield when required by signals or rules. Statements suggesting never using crosswalks or that pedestrians don’t have to follow rules are inaccurate, and the idea that pedestrians always have priority isn’t correct either.
